Cleaning Safe
Parrots can make very rewarding, entertaining, and loveable pets, however there are many realities of parrot ownership that many people need to realize, like….
Parrots are messy!
They fling pellets, shells and seeds! They wet fruit and vegetables, toss them in their water and make soup out of it. Bits of paper and cardboard, and pieces of chewed up bird toys end up all over every inch of floor and wall within a 5 feet distance of your bird’s cage! Not to mention the occasional dark red wall splatters from frozen berries which end up looking like a crime scene.
How to clean it?
Let the wet food dry nice and hard. Now scrape the hardened food off the floor and walls, sweep or vacuum everything up, then re-mess it up again within the hour and be prepared to clean it all up again! This is bird partnership. Be prepared to tidy up around the cage several times a day. Bird also generate a lot of dust from the shafts of their feathers as they grow in.
